Print on Request is a print timing option. Selecting the right print timing options help with the On Demand production process. You can read more about these here
What is Print on Request?
Print on Request is where recipients wait for a trigger when they are added to a campaign. When you send a trigger at a later point, the printing process will begin.
When to use Print on Request
Print on Request is good to use for when:
- You need to send the note data to the campaign from one application and then trigger the note from another application
- You want to print batches in order of entry periodically
- Speed is of essence and you need to save on printing time. Sending the note data to your campaign at an earlier point will get the rendering out the way so when you trigger, you can stat the printing process immediately
If you can send your data when you want the note to br printed it may be best to use
How to use Print on Request
Print on Request can be selected in the first stage of campaign creation as seen below.
Once you have created your campaign, and added some recipients, you can setup your triggers.
It is worth noting that, currently, no matter the order you request to print the notes, your notes will print in the order they were initially created. We are planning on changing this in a later release.
In both, you can start the printing process of one note which has status 'Waiting for Request' as seen below by clicking the printer icon in the appropriate row of the user interface. This is useful for when you would like to time your printing with specific orders.
In both the API and the user interface you can print all notes currently with a status of 'Waiting for Request' as seen below by clicking the 'Print All' button above the recipients table in the user interface.
